Memory Care at The Glen at Hiland Meadows

Memory Care now available in Queensbury, NY

Specialized Memory Care in Queensbury

In Fall of 2022, The Glen at Hiland Meadows opened a brand-new 25,000 square foot building for memory care, which features 30 suites and provide assisted living care, as well as a day program for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, and other memory loss problems.

The decision to expand the community’s memory care services was due in large part to a study conducted by Murdock Strategies, which indicated there was a critical need for memory and dementia care in the Queensbury area. In fact, there was an estimated 100-bed deficit, forcing many local families to move loved ones out of the area in order to get proper care. The Glen’s new Memory Care Center has changed that by providing more options locally for people with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Similar to our networks’ other nationally recognized memory care models in Cohoes and East Greenbush, The Glen offers a residential environment that preserves self-esteem and self-confidence and supports independence.

Memory Care at The Glen at Hiland Meadows is for seniors with early-to-mid-stage dementia who would benefit from engaging activities designed specifically for them, and who require a safe, secure living environment where they can thrive.

Licensed nursing staff is always on-site, 24-hours-a-day, but for seniors with significant health needs, we don’t provide the level of skilled nursing care that nursing homes offer. Therefore, our memory care is significantly less expensive than what nursing homes charge.

Pricing:

  • Our all-inclusive monthly service fee, for a private room and bath, is $8,826.
  • Enhanced assisted living services also available for an additional fee of $1,770/mo.

Memory Care here at The Glen is considered a type of assisted living. Although Medicare and Medicaid don’t cover assisted living, the Veterans Administration does cover some of the cost for qualifying veterans or their surviving spouses, and some long-term care insurance policies might cover part of the cost as well.
